Sri Guru Ram Das Ji (b. Bhai Jetha Ji) was the fourth Sikh Guru. He founded the holy city of Amritsar (originally Ramdaspur) and excavated the sacred Amrit Sarovar (Pool of Nectar).
He composed the four sacred stanzas of the Lavan, which form the spiritual centerpiece of the Sikh marriage ceremony (Anand Karaj).
Guru Ram Das Ji welcomed artisans, traders, and devotees from all walks of life to settle in Amritsar, establishing a thriving commercial and spiritual capital.
