Life History & Sacred Journey

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the founder of Sikhism and the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. Born in 1469 CE in Rai Bhoi Ki Talwandi (modern Nankana Sahib, Pakistan), Guru Nanak Dev Ji brought a revolutionary message of One Universal Creator (Ik Onkar), social equality, and spiritual freedom.

From early childhood, Guru Nanak Dev Ji demonstrated profound divine wisdom. He famously challenged empty rituals with the Sacha Sauda (True Bargain) when he fed hungry dervishes instead of doing commercial trade.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji embarked on four extensive journeys (Udasis) across India, Tibet, Arabia, and Sri Lanka, spreading the message of Kirat Karo (honest labor), Naam Japo (meditate on God), and Vand Chhako (share with others).
