Life History & Sacred Journey
Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji was the fifth Sikh Guru and the first Sikh martyr. He compiled the holy scripture Adi Granth in 1604 CE, enshrining the divine Gurbani of Sikh Gurus and Sufi saints.
He designed and constructed Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar, inviting Sufi Saint Hazrat Mian Mir to lay its foundation stone.
In 1606 CE, Guru Arjan Dev Ji stood steadfast against tyrannical Mughal persecution, enduring tortures on a hot iron plate (Tatti Tavi) while reciting "Tera Bhana Meetha Laage" (Thy Will is sweet to me).
