History & Spiritual Significance
Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib stands at the heart of Anandpur Sahib, the "City of Divine Bliss." It is one of the five Takhts (Seats of Temporal Authority) in Sikhism.
On Vaisakhi day in 1699 CE, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji summoned a congregation of 80,000 devotees here, created the order of the Khalsa Panth, and initiated the Panj Pyare with Khande Di Pahul (Amrit).
The Gurdwara preserves historical weapons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, including the sacred Khanda, Kattar, Saif, and Nagani Barcha.
