History & Spiritual Significance
Gurdwara Sri Hemkund Sahib is situated at an altitude of 15,200 feet in the Himalayan mountains of Uttarakhand, surrounded by seven snow-capped peaks.
In Bachitar Natak, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji describes meditating at "Hemkunt Parbat" in his previous life before taking human birth.
The star-shaped Gurdwara building overlooks a crystal-clear glacial lake, open to pilgrims during summer months (May to October).
